240th Anniversary of the Raid on Paulus Hook

Join the Bergen County Historical Society and the Brigade of the American Revolution as the commemorate the 240th Anniversary of the Raid on Paulus Hook at Historic New Bridge Landing.

All three Jersey-Dutch sandstone houses will be open for tours throughout the day. The Blackhorse Inn will also be open where refreshments will be available and visitors will have a chance to visit the gift shop.

Military historian and author Todd Braisted will be giving a lecture on the actions at Paulus Hook at 1 pm.

The Steuben House features a new exhibit of Revolutionary War artifacts from Bergen County and nine period map enlargements, New Bridge and Maps of the American Revolution.

Throughout the day reenactors will be on site demonstrating how to use a camp kitchen and how to construct defensive works and wigwams. A light infantry drill will take place in the afternoon, the men will muster on the grounds and march out, guided by local militia, to capture the fort and hopefully avoid any skirmishes.

Children's activities including a scavenger hunt will be available throughout the day.

Free parking available on site.


$12 adults, $7 students, BCHS members free
