Description

Glacier National Park is a 1,583-sq.-mi. wilderness area in Montana's Rocky Mountains, with glacier-carved peaks and valleys running to the Canadian border. It's crossed by the mountainous Going-to-the-Sun Road. There are more than 700 miles of trails in a vast park with diverse landscapes & abundant wildlife.  Highlights include the photogenic Hidden Lake.  However, Glacier National Park is quickly losing an important part of its natural beauty: Its glaciers.  U.S. Geological Survey data shows the park's 37 glaciers  have shrunk an average of about 40% since 1966.  In fact, they'll all be gone within our lifetime.

A photographic essay of Glacier National Park will be presented, with narration, by Frederick Dammont, photographer, a veteran of about seventy solo print shows and hundreds of slide presentations. This program is free. No registration is necessary. Seats are on a "first come" basis.
