Saxophonist and National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Master Jimmy Heath has a 50-year career that included work with every leading jazz musician, from Howard McGhee, Dizzy Gillespie, and Miles Davis to Wynton Marsalis. A distinguished composer and arranger, his pieces have been in the regular repertoire of Clark Terry, James Moody, Chet Baker, Miles Davis, Dexter Gordon, and numerous others. Heath is a devoted teacher who has led the jazz program at Queens College, and taught at several other leading schools. His regular quartet includes his brother and co-leader, drummer Albert "Tootie" Heath, pianist Jeb Patton, and bassist David Wong. The quartet will be joined by trumpeter and WP jazz alumnus Freddie Hendrix. The Heath Brothers Quartet has become a summer tradition at WP!
