Description

For over fifty years Carole King and James Taylor have provided part of the soundtrack of our lives and their influence is still being felt. King’s career is now the subject of a hit Broadway musical and Taylor’s most recent release went to #1 on the Billboard charts. A trio of singer-musicians presents a program of songs, stories and history, putting this great music in the context of the larger world. You’ll hear the songs, find out where they came from and how they came together. Coming from backgrounds in Rock & Roll and Folk music Carole King and James Taylor were inspired by The Beatles, Motown, Country Music and Classic Pop to create something unique. Tina Ross, John Foley and Barry Wiesenfeld have shared stages with Arlo Guthrie, Pete Seeger, Richie Havens, and the famous “Many Others”, written books and magazine articles and recorded educational material for the BBC, the Canadian Broadcasting Co. and the Smithsonian Institution.
