10 Fall Festivals For Everyone
Crisp air, cool vibes and community fun—here’s where to find it all this season.

You might’ve bid farewell to summer over Labor Day weekend, but the season of fun is just beginning. The transition to autumn (summer doesn’t officially end until Sept. 22, folks!) is full of excitement here in Morris and Essex counties, which are packed with family-friendly fairs, carnivals, festivals and so much more.
Below are some ideas to celebrate the end of summer/beginning of fall:
Sept. 13: 19th Annual Country Fair. Randolph’s yearly celebration with music, food, dinosaurs, beer, live music and more takes place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Veterans Community Park.
Sept. 14: NJ Feast of San Gennaro. Embrace the best of Italian culture at this inaugural event, which starts at noon at Fireman’s Field in Mine Hill. Celebrate with music, food vendors, photo ops and more.
Sept. 20: MasterChef All-Stars Live. Watch your favorite MasterChef competitors battle on stage at the Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown. The show starts at 7 p.m., and tickets are available online.
Sept. 20–21: 41st Annual Rose Squared Art Show. You don’t have to be an art lover to appreciate the works on display at this event, scheduled for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day at Upper Montclair’s Anderson Park. The show will feature the art, ceramics, jewelry, wood, paintings, photography and more of more than 130 artists.
Sept. 21: Fall Family Festival. Visit the Essex County Environmental Center from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a day of crafts, displays, refreshments, canoeing, hiking, live music, petting zoo, live animal shows and demonstrations and more.
Sept. 21: Pequannock Township Street Festival. There’s something for everyone at the 25th installation of this event, include a car show, a scavenger hunt, a beer garden, food trucks, crafts for kids and more than 100 vendors.
Sept. 27: Walktoberfest ’25: Step Up For The Arc. Join others for this walkathon fundraiser to support those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Check-in for the walk along Executive Drive in Morris Plains starts at 9 a.m.
Sept. 27: Oktoberfest. Montclair Brewery’s annual Oktoberfest celebration features locally inspired craft beers as well as non-alcoholic craft drinks. Come dress in your best German-inspired Oktoberfest attire for a costume contest, participate in a beer-stein-holding contest and enjoy drinks, food and live music. The event starts at 1 p.m.
Sept. 28: Morristown Festival on the Green. This showcase, beginning at noon, will feature more than 170 exhibitors, five separate entertainment areas, kids’ activities, carnival games, a beer tent and much more.
Oct. 17–26: Montclair Film Festival. Now in its 14th year, the festival will feature works from some of the best independent, up-and-coming and aspiring filmmakers in the world. Stay tuned to the organization’s website for the up-to-date schedule and lineup.
