9 Local Events For A Fun Weekend

’Tis the season for green décor, corned beef and cabbage and amazing beer—but it’s also the time for longer days, great music and the start of outdoor adventures. Though it’s not quite time to pack away that winter coat, Bergen County is heating up with things to do.

Below are only a few of those events that you, your friends and your family can enjoy:

March 7

  • Bergen Performing Arts Center in Englewood hosts A-lister Tracy Morgan for a one-night show filled with laughs. Come see what decades of showbiz experience will get you. The show begins at 8 p.m. For tickets, see bergenPAC’s website.
  • In Teaneck, exercise your creativity with a Writer’s Workshop & Open Mic Night, hosted by hosted by emcee and poet Toney Jackson. Registration is required. The workshop begins at 6 p.m., and the open mic begins at 7 p.m.

March 8

  • Dumont-based Bergen County Irish invites you to its 2025 gala, an evening of dining and music to raise money toward preserving Irish culture in Bergen. The group also will be presenting its Person of the Year award and more. Tickets can be purchased on the organization’s website, and the event begins at 6:30 p.m.

March 8 & 9

  • Enjoy a St. Patrick’s Day Kids Brunch at The Shannon Rose in Ramsey. In addition to great food, there will be bagpipers, step dancers, raffle baskets and a mini parade. The fun begins at 10 a.m., and reservations are required.
  • Get outside with the Tenafly Nature Center, which hosts its ever-popular Seasonal Scavenger Hunt at 1 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. Families with children 4 and up will receive a printed set of clues to independently solve nature riddles along Nature Center trails. For registration and more, see the nature center’s website.

March 9

  • To celebrate Women’s History Month, head to the Williams Center in Rutherford for Spotlighting Women in Independent Cinema. Enjoy award-winning films from local filmmakers, who’ll be on hand for a panel discussion afterward. Doors open at 5 p.m., and the show starts at 5:30 p.m. For tickets, head over to the Williams Center website.
  • Join the Bergen County Audubon Society and the Teaneck Creek Conservatory this weekend for a nature walk. Come and explore the wetlands and observe how birds, plants and wildlife are responding to the first signs of spring. The walk begins at 10 a.m., and registration is recommended.
  • The Paramus Library continues its popular Sunday Sessions concert series. It will be hosting Hollywood film producer and drummer Richard Baratta and the Gotham City Latin Jazz Sextet for a concert and talk on film music with a Latin jazz twist. The event starts at 2 p.m.
  • For even more Irish spirit, head over to the Park Ridge Library for their annual Bantry Boys Irish Music Concert! This afternoon performance will be filled with good times, good laughs and cultural spirit. The music starts at 1 p.m.
