Say Cheese!
Making mozzarella has become a beloved tradition for the Cappadona’s Hasbrouck Heights home.

Some families cook turkeys or bake cookies this time of year, but in the Cappadona’s Hasbrouck Heights home, it’s all about mozzarella. Husband-and-wife Mike and Leslie Ann have been the cheese, known fondly in their house as “mutz,” since their kids were little. “We’re big fans of great mozzarella from some of the best Italian delis in North Jersey, and my wife would buy the curd at Corrado’s in Paterson,” Mike tells BERGEN. He posted this photo Leslie Ann recently making mutz while friends Samantha and Crista Robinson work in the back. “Over the years, it’s become a tradition that friends have joined in to do,” he adds. “It’s a lot of fun, and nothing’s better than homemade mutz!” For more of what’s going on around Bergen County, follow us on Instagram @bergenmagnj.
