Dr. John Mak, board certified in pain medicine and anesthesiology, utilizes a multi-disciplinary approach to pain management. Dr. Mak and his fellow physicians at the National Spine & Pain Centers implement the latest technology with a full complement of tools including physical therapy, medications, ultrasound-guided injections, and advanced interventional procedures to treat pain. “We strive to get to the bottom of what causes a patient’s pain instead of just masking that pain,” says Dr. Mak. “That’s our philosophy.”
At National Spine & Pain Centers, patients receive personalized and compassionate care. All team members—from the doctors and physician assistants to the medical assistants—listen to patients and tailor their treatment plan to their unique needs. With an eye toward improving each patient’s quality of life, the doctors treat patients through minimally invasive procedures. Treatments like minimally invasive decompression for spinal stenosis and spinal cord stimulation are among some of the cutting edge, effective methods of relieving chronic back pain. Priding themselves on their expertise, the doctors at National Spine & Pain Centers were trained at the nation’s most prestigious medical centers, including Harvard Medical School and Johns Hopkins Hospital.
