10 Events To Kickstart Your Spring
Tired of winter? There’s something fun for everyone happening this month in our counties.

March in Morris and Essex counties is proof that cabin fever doesn’t stand a chance. As winter starts loosening its grip and hints of spring pop up in our neighborhoods, the calendar fills with reasons to get out of the house. From hands-on activities and high-energy shows to outdoor adventures (weather permitting!), there’s no shortage of ways to keep the kids and the crew entertained.
So grab the jackets (just in case), round up the squad and start penciling in some memory-making moments—we’ve got your go-to guide right here.
March 13–15
- Look for your next treasure at Spring CraftMorristown, happening at the Morristown Armory. There will be about 175 artists sharing and selling everything from clothing and accessories, paintings and prints, ceramics and sculptures and much more. There will be a café on site selling food and beverages. Full details are available online.
March 13–29
- In Montville, the Barn Theater puts on a production of the Tony-Award-winning play Torch Song. Written by Harvey Fierstein, it follows a Jewish drag queen living in NYC in the late 1970s and early 1980s. This story of love, family, identity and resilience will make you laugh and cry in turns. Multiple seatings are available, including matinees.
March 14
- You’ll feel like a high-society type during Afternoon Tea at the secret tea room in Montclair’s Van Vleck House & Gardens. Enjoy a menu with fine teas, freshly baked scones, jams, sandwiches and more. The event is intended for adults and children ages 13 and older. Seatings are 90 minutes, and registration is required. March 15
- Want to see your dog pose with a bunny? Bring Fido and Sally to the Mall at Short Hills for Pet Photos with the Easter Bunny, taking place from 4 to 6 p.m. Photos will be taken and available for purchase. Reservations are recommended but not required for the event.
March 19–22
- Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey bring the Greatest Show on Earth to the Prudential Center in Newark. Family fun includes jaw-dropping moments, world-class performers and incredible sights all set to a pop music playlist. Multiple shows are available. March 20
- Hey, you guys! Celebrate the 40th anniversary of The Goonies during New Jersey Performing Arts Center’s special screening and Q&A with actors Corey Feldman and Kerri Green. A post-show, VIP meet-and-greet also is available. The show starts at 7:30 p.m., and tickets are available online.
- You know the music, now you can hear the sounds of U2 and Coldplay live when tribute bands Unforgettable Fire and Fix You take the Wellmont Theater stage. Unforgettable Fire has been performing U2 classics and deep cuts since 1995, and Fix You is a longtime band that has mastered the Coldplay discography. Show time is 8 p.m.
March 21–22
- The New Jersey Ballet and New Jersey Symphony Orchestra present Tchaikovsky’s Sleeping Beauty at Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown. Watch as the two companies bring the timeless fairytale classic to life in a show suitable for all audiences. The curtain goes up at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets can be purchased online.
March 28
- Greet the warming weather with a scenic run and take part in the 2026 Run on the Reservoir: New Beginnings Charity Run at the South Mountain Recreation Complex in West Orange. Take in scenic views, see if you can beat your own best time and support a good cause—proceeds from this race benefit the New Jersey Bankruptcy Lawyers Foundation, an organization that provides free legal assistance to people struggling with debt.
March 28–29
- All aboard to see the Easter bunny! The Whippany Railway Museum is holding its annual Easter Bunny Express, giving visitors a chance to ride a vintage passenger car while the Easter Bunny meets and greets them. Trips are at 1, 2, 3 and 4 p.m. on each day. Get your tickets online!
