Aviation has always been part of Alan Antaki’s DNA. Inspired by his commercial-pilot father, Alan was skydiving by age 15 and flying by 16. Although his dream of becoming a Navy pilot was cut short by his eyesight, his passion for aviation never wavered. That passion led him on a decade-long journey to acquire Monmouth Executive Airport and create a flourishing airport terminal known as the Monmouth Jet Center. Monmouth Executive Airport is one of New Jersey’s few remaining privately-owned, public-use airports. After years of complex negotiations involving environmental challenges that caused other prospective buyers to walk away, Alan finalized the purchase in 2013. This purchase preserved the airport’s and Wall Township’s legacy as it transitioned from the Brown family, owners since 1938, to the Antaki family.

Today, Monmouth Executive Airport is far more than a runway. It serves as a vital hub for medevac flights, organ transplant missions, military operations, law enforcement, corporate aviation, and flight training. Under Alan’s leadership, and with the increasing help of his wife Suzanne and children Kiersten, Natalia, and Max – all of whom are taking flying lessons – the airport continues to grow. The airport is New Jersey’s only privately owned airport to finance its own, more pilot friendly FAA instrument approach procedures – an important distinction – as these investments are typically publicly funded. Monmouth County is benefitting well from these private investments as the resulting job growth and infrastructure improvements will make Monmouth Executive Airport one of the county’s biggest economic engines. What’s next, you ask? The main runway will be resurfaced in September with a partial grant from the NJDOT.

Whether welcoming military personnel with a complimentary meal or planning for the airport’s future, the Antaki family remains committed to ensuring this vital community resource continues to serve Monmouth County and New Jersey for generations to come.
