Since 1968, Mastro Montessori has been shaping curious minds and nurturing confident joyful learners as Monmouth County’s first Montessori school. What began as a single classroom has grown into a thriving community serving children from 18 months through age 9, while remaining the county’s only school recognized by the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI), the organization founded by Dr. Maria Montessori to uphold authentic Montessori education worldwide.

Every teacher is AMI-trained and follows Montessori’s proven approach; guiding children through mixed-age classrooms where they develop independence, executive functioning, time management, and social-emotional skills at their own pace. In today’s technology-driven world, Mastro Montessori is intentionally low-tech, helping children strengthen focus, curiosity, and critical thinking through purposeful, hands-on learning.
