Atlantic Highlands Elementary SchoolClasses might be canceled, but the school and its “slopes” are the destination when winter weather hits. The hill here is steep, making it the ideal place for thrill seekers.

Holmdel ParkSupervised sledding is available when two or more inches of snow cover the great hill. An added bonus: hot chocolate is available at the shelter building.

Tower Hill, Red BankSuffering from cabin fever? Bring the entire family to this spot, a popular hangout for families for many generations. It’s a big hit with the smaller sleigh riders.
