Montclair’s newest restaurant is set to open its doors.

Montclair’s newest restaurant, Villalobos, is set to open its doors in late June. The menu will feature traditional Mexican ingredients and recipes interpreted by chef-owner (and Nutley native) Adam Rose, former chef de cuisine at Nico Kitchen + Bar at NJPAC. Expect to see dishes like chipotle and pistachio salsa; tlacoyos (grilled doughy treats made of masa) with refried black beans and Oaxaca cheese; and churros (fried dough pastries) with Mexican chocolate sauce, crema and hazelnut spread being whipped up in the open kitchen. Villalobos also will produce its own tortillas daily, making it Montclair’s only such “tortilla factory,” according to Rose. Villalobos, 6 S. Fullerton Ave., Montclair, 973.868.8394;
