Worth It

The Ainsworth, a trendy restaurant located inside Hotel Indigo in Newark, recently opened its door to hotel guests and city dwellers alike. Besides typical appetizers like wings and wraps, the menu boasts gourmet burgers like the mac & cheese burger, caprese burrata burger with fresh mozzarella and basil pesto and the French onion burger. Exclusive cocktails like the Cinnamon Peach Mule and Knotty Pine can be ordered at the bar, and the space boasts views of downtown Newark and the NYC skyline. It’s certainly not the only Ainsworth around: The restaurant has popular locations in both Chelsea and the East Village, Hoboken and Kansas City.

I Scream, You Scream

Mendham residents Joseph Murphy and Sean McDonough made history last fall by opening the town’s only local ice cream shop featuring a medley of frozen treats, from Hershey’s ice cream and root beer floats to non-dairy sorbet and house-made ice cream cakes. After a successful first season, the creamery took a winter hiatus but will be reopening soon for its much-anticipated spring season.

Murphy and McDonough have made a point to keep the creamery communityoriented by only staffing the front counter with Mendham and Chester residents, giving local students work experience and a way to earn money during the summer. Stay updated on the shop’s spring season by checking in on its website listed below.
