AAUW NORTHERN MONMOUTH COUNTY BRANCH & BOOKTOWNE OF MANASQUAN

The American Association of University Women (AAUW) recently held its scholarship luncheon at the Salt Greek Grille, and invited Janet Benton (author of Lilli de Jong) as its guest speaker. The local AAUW branch also celebrated its 90-year anniversary and honored its first three “Women of Achievement.” The author visit/Q & A with Benton at the Brielle Public Library followed the afternoon event. EARTH DAY CELEBRATION
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF MONMOUTH COUNTY
MONMOUTH RACETRACK, OCEANPORT
Habitat for Humanity held an Earth Day Yoga Event at the Monmouth Racetrack. The class featured local yoga instructors Chrisanne Milko, DonnaLyn Giegerich and Vanessa Van Noy. After the 60-minute yoga session, attendees enjoyed a wine tasting hosted by Holmdel Buy-Rite and a trunk show by Athleta of Shrewsbury. Attendees pose with “swag” they received at the event.
'A MOST UNUSUAL EVENT’
BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF MONMOUTH COUNTY
THE STONE PONY, ASBURY PARK
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Monmouth County (BGC Monmouth) celebrated 80 years of service with a party titled “A Most Unusual Event” at The Stone Pony. The event’s theme was ’80s, and attendees were dressed for the occasion while enjoying music from the band Rubix Kube. BGC Monmouth exceeded its fundraising goals and received afterschool programming sponsorship for 86 local children in less than two minutes.

UNITED WAY OF MONMOUTH AND OCEAN COUNTIES
EAGLE OAKS GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB, FARMINGDALE
United Way recently hosted its 50th anniversary gala at the Eagle Oaks Golf & Country Club. The event honored Enterprise Rent-A-Center, David and Sarah Fischell and Fulfill for their dedication and service to the community. Guests enjoyed an evening of dinner, dancing, boardwalk games and an open bar, as well as a gift auction. It also was announced that all new and increased donations will be matched dollar for dollar by the Jay and Linda Grunin Foundation.
