SPIN FOR A CHILD
CASA FOR CHILDREN OF ESSEX COUNTY

Indoor cyclists of all levels participated in CASA’s (Court Appointed Special Advocate) 11th annual Spin for a Child, which took place at D*Fit in Montclair. The event raised more than $23,000 for CASA, which trains volunteers to speak up for the best interests of children who have been removed from their homes because of abuse or neglect..

MORRIS HABITAT FOR HUMANITY

As part of this year’s Women Build campaign, volunteers at Morris Habitat for Humanity helped construct homes along Main Street in Roxbury Township. This season’s teams and sponsors included NJ Elder Law Center at Goldberg Law, Stackable Sensations, Paradigm Marketing and Design and the Morris County Chamber of Commerce.

More than 400 women (and a few men) attended the United Way of Northern New Jersey’s annual regional breakfast in Bridgewater. The program honored Maria Semple as the 2019 Women in Philanthropy Award recipient and featured keynote speaker Monica Cost and the Director of Women’s Philanthropy Michele Dreiblatt.
TRANSITION AND RECREATION SERVICES FAIR

The Phoenix Center held its annual Transition and Recreation Services Fair for parents, caregivers, advocates, district case managers and child study teams— anyone working or living with students ages 5 to 21 that will at some point need transition services in preparation for life beyond the classroom. The event allowed nearly 100 attendees to learn from more than 35 vendors about various recreation and transition services offered throughout New Jersey.

Winston Preparatory School, which has campuses throughout the region including Whippany, held its 2019 Spring Benefit “500 Reasons Why” at Cipriani 42nd Street in NYC. It was a festive evening that featured student band performances, dinner, dancing and a live auction hosted by Sebastian Clarke of Rago Auctions & PBS’ Antiques Roadshow. All of the funds raised benefit ongoing research and program development for students with learning differences.
