It's Time for Oktoberfest
There’s no better way to celebrate autumn than by heading to local Oktoberfest celebrations.
Don your lederhosen or dirndl and get ready for good food, beer and a whole lot of fun.
Head to Pig & Prince’s second annual Oktoberfest on Lackawanna Plaza in Montclair, Oct. 5 from 12 to 7 p.m. An admission of $20 includes one token, which is good for a mug full of beer or your choice of food, stickers and raffle tickets for prizes and giveaways, and an authentic Pig & Prince Oktoberfest mug. Seasonal beers and food will be offered.
The fifth annual Oktoberfest celebration at Our Lady of the Lake Parish on Lakeside Avenue in Verona is headed your way, Oct. 4 from 6 to 11 p.m. Traditional German food—bratwurst, knockwurst, sauerkraut and more—along with refreshments including Spaten Oktoberfest beer make this event a hit each year. Attendees must be 21 or older. Tickets are $65 and will grant access to the event, the opportunity to win door prizes and a commemorative mug to fill as you like.
Your family will enjoy a day of Octoberfest fun at the Essex County Environmental Center on Eagle Rock Avenue in Roseland, Oct. 4 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. At this free annual celebration of autumn’s arrival, you can take a walk in the center’s pumpkin patch, enjoy the garden harvest, paddle down the Passaic River and much more.
