Disappointed that Union Landing is no more? Check out the new restaurant that was set to open in its place at press time—Waypoint 622, which is serving up “fresh American” fare ranging from filet mignon to seafood. Sit at the oyster bar on the patio and watch raw oysters being shucked while waiting to eat your own, or enjoy traditional Japanese cuisine from the yakitori grill. Executive chef Dan Palsi explains that although Waypoint 622 is very different from Union Landing (both the cuisine and the space are completely new), a few aspects of the old townie favorite will remain, such as familiar local bands playing live music on the deck. Another hook: catch and cook. Bring your catch of the day to the restaurant and it will be prepared right there to your liking.
