New Jersey Root Canal has been saving teeth for 30 years. Dr. Brian Trava established the practice in 1990, and later added offices in Ho- Ho-Kus, Oradell and Wayne. Endodontics is the specialty of saving your natural teeth and diagnosing facial pain. This may encompass root canal, correcting a failing root canal, treating traumatized teeth, and stem cell therapy to stop a child from having a root canal.
The standard of care of endodontics has been raised using technology such as 3D imaging, surgical microscopes and researched-based sterilization techniques. 3D imaging and surgical microscopes help us detect extra roots and infection not seen by traditional methods, leading to a higher degree of eliminating infection. Longevity and quality of life are increasing in our population. Studies show it is more cost- and health- effective to save your natural teeth. Children are an important part of our practice. Trauma can have long-term ramifications from a dental and legal perspective, if not handled properly for the first time. Always seek a second opinion. Special needs patients can range from apprehensive to Autistic—specific areas that take understanding and a working knowledge of root canal treatment and restoration.
Patients look to our practice for consistency in diagnosis and treatment. Having five recognized specialists to discuss, diagnosis and treat is a great advantage for our patients. Communicating and working with so many exceptional dentists and physicians in the community allows us to understand the patient as a whole and deliver successful treatment. Dr. Seung Shon, U.M.D.N.J., has authored research papers advancing the field of endodontics. Dr. Sujean Oh, Columbia University, has completed extensive studies in oral pathology. Dr. Alison Petix, Tufts University, earned a research fellowship and has served our Veteran community. Dr. Yang, NYU, has been awarded multiple research fellowships and has donated his skills in Haiti and Mexico.
