Paul Perkins knows something about taking the stage. Before becoming a lawyer, he studied Musical Theater at Carnegie Mellon University and Opera at New England Conservatory of Music.

However, his enduring inspiration would be found closer to home. Paul grew up watching his mother, a clinical social worker, work extensively with abused women and children. Through her, he saw the difference that one person can make in other’s lives. Her example led Paul to law and on the first day of law school, he knew he had found his calling.

Admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 2006, Paul interned for The Honorable William H. Walls, U.S.D.J. before joining Cohn Lifland. There, he received an incredible foundation for practicing law. He launched his own boutique litigation practice in 2019 and became a Certified Trial Attorney in 2023. His firm focuses on business litigation representing primarily small- and medium-sized companies. In 2026, Paul was named a Super Lawyer.

While performing on a stage may be behind him, Paul’s artistic background continues to influence the way he practices law. He approaches litigation creatively, particularly when developing trial strategies, and enjoys the challenge of thinking through complex matters from every angle. Just as important, he brings genuine feeling to his work. He believes that success isn’t simply measured in dollars, but more about developing meaningful, long-term relationships with his clients.

“I get very emotional with my work because I love what I do,” he says. Helping a client through a difficult situation or helping protect a business that a family depends on is, in his words, an “honor and privilege.” It’s a philosophy that has remained constant throughout an unconventional journey. The combination of creativity, strategic thinking and genuine compassion continues to define Paul’s approach to the practice of law.
