“When I learned three years ago that I had triple negative breast cancer, the news was devastating. But Dr. Miguel Sanchez and his team at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center could not have told me in a more humane, sensitive, and loving way,” says Melissa Stolper, mother of two, fashion/beauty publicist, and entrepreneur. “It gave me the courage to face my cancer and ultimately share my journey. I launched a blog called CancerFashionista.com, to encourage other women to embrace self-care and accept that they are still beautiful by reviewing products that help them look and feel their best throughout their own journey and beyond. When you lose what makes you feel feminine, it takes courage to remember you haven’t lost yourself. Helping them also helps me continue to heal.” In addition to providing resources on her blog, Melissa actively works in the community to bring public awareness about this type of breast cancer, including working with the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation, a national nonprofit in Bergen County, and serving on the Advisory Council of the Graf Center for Integrative Medicine at Englewood Hospital and Medicine Center.
