Providing patients with life-changing results for over 20 years is central to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Tinton Falls’ mission. Originally Healthsouth, Encompass is celebrating the healthcare heroes who have provided care with the Hospital from the beginning. Each employee has their own unique reason for their longevity, but all revolve around building lifelong friendships, the expectation of excellence, and the drive to provide the best care and positive environment for patients to succeed in their recovery.

Nurse Karra Zajac has worked at Encompass since she graduated from nursing school. She worked alongside her mother when the Hospital opened in 2002. Karra says, “I am blessed to work with some of the most amazing healthcare clinicians.” Physical therapist Dennis Delacruz and Pharmacy Tech Marieta Pabst agree, appreciating how their work environment aligns with their values and gives them a sense of purpose.

Elevating the standard of care makes the results worthwhile for nurses like Joy Sotto, who feels proud to be a healthcare pioneer. The Hospital’s Infectious Disease expert, Rose Whalen, adds, “Rehab nursing has been very rewarding, as you get to see the strength and resilience of patients as they strive to return home.” Nurse Mariza Gado credits her longevity to finding family within her coworkers, which Pharmacist Marcy Rosendale echoes: “I love the camaraderie and spirit of my team, and all of the hard-working people who make this hospital great.”
