Wallop Of Whipped Cream
Having fun on a rainy day isn’t a pie in the sky for the Kaplanis family, who brought carnival excitement indoors.

When weather dampens outdoor carnivals, some Bergenites opt to bring the games inside. That’s what Ridgewood’s Kaplanis family did last weekend, when rain forced the cancellation of many events. Dad Chris posted this hilarious video (swipe to see the second one) of their “pie in the face” game, where daughter Ashley, 6, excitedly sat for a whopping wallop of whipped cream to the face (swipe to see their 4-year-old son Cameron have his turn). “The kids were the ones who pulled out the game and came up with the idea,” Chris tells BERGEN. “Ashley insisted on going first while Cameron was a little hesitant until he saw Ashley go. Ashley couldn’t wait to get mom’s homemade whipped cream in her face. It’s important to let kids be kids, have fun and play away from screens and TV. This particular game helps kids learn patience and self-control as they take turns, wait and anticipate getting the pie in the face.” For more of what’s going on around Bergen County, follow us on Instagram @bergenmagnj.
