It’s been a cold few weeks here in Bergen, and it has us all craving warm weather, beaches and pools. While we are still many months away from summer (hang in there!), you don’t need to wait until the season is right to take up swimming, and there are plenty of reasons to do so other than just cooling off.

Swimming is one of the most ideal forms of low-impact exercise for all ages and body types. It’s a full body workout that doesn’t put strain on your joints, making it a popular choice of exercise for those with arthritis or similar conditions. Additionally, it’s great for your mental health—swimming and other forms of water exercise are known to boost mood and soothe stress.
