Family fun is in full swing! Here’s your guide to what’s happening now around Bergen County.

November’s chill is setting in, but there’s plenty of warmth to be found in the family fun around Bergen County this weekend. From cozy indoor crafts and concerts to dazzling light shows and holiday events, there’s something for every age and energy level.

Bundle up, grab some hot cocoa and explore what’s happening close to home—the perfect way to make memories before the holiday rush begins.

Nov. 7

  • Let your young ones burn off energy at the Wyckoff YMCA’s Kids Sports Night Out. From 5 to 7 p.m., children can enjoy games, relay races and other sports indoors. Pizza also will be served. Sign up online.
  • The stars are out in Bergen County this weekend, and we’re not just talking about celebrities and A-listers. Check out the free public viewings at the Emil Buehler Observatory in Paramus on the Bergen Community College campus to see Saturn, Neptune and other planets and stars. The Friday viewing is from 7:30 to 10 p.m.
  • Listen to the smooth sounds of Morris Day & The Time, who’ll take the Bergen Performing Arts Center stage in Englewood for an 8 p.m. show. Day, a longtime Prince collaborator, is a funk performer known for his stage presence and showmanship. Get your tickets online!

Nov. 7–8

  • Calling all K-Pop fans: American Dream in East Rutherford is hosting the Korea Brand & Entertainment Expo, featuring multiple events over the two days. Don’t miss the opening ceremony and concert at The Rink on Nov. 7 from 7:30 to 9 p.m. as well as the culture event on Nov. 8 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. In addition, a K-Brand Pop-Up store will be open both days on level 1.

Nov. 7–9

  • It’s opening weekend of Let It Glow, a holiday lantern spectacular at the Bergen County Zoo in Paramus. The display features more than 30 scenes of larger-than-life, animal-themed lanterns. Tickets, which include a train ride, can be purchased online. P.S.: Don’t worry if you can’t make it this weekend—Let It Glow is open through Jan. 11, 2026.
  • The Bergen County Players in Oradell are staging Ken Ludwig’s “The Game’s Afoot,” an exciting whodunnit that puts Broadway actors under the microscope during their visit to a Connecticut estate. Friday and Saturday shows are at 8 p.m., and the Sunday performance is at 2 p.m. Purchase tickets online.
  • The Teaneck Film Festival continues this weekend with a slate of documentaries, independent films and Q&A sessions held at Teaneck Cinemas, Puffin Cultural Forum and Temple Emeth. Be sure to the check out the festival’s closing film, Lilly, screening at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 9 at Temple Emeth.

Nov. 8

  • Start your day with a good stretch and some fresh air at the final Yoga for the Soul session at Bergen Town Center in Paramus. Bring your yoga mat to the parking garage rooftop at 9 a.m. for a free class that focuses on alignment to build strength and flexibility in a safe healthy environment.
  • Bring the family to the Fort Lee Historic Park visitor center for Thank A Veteran! The program, held from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., allows guests to craft patriotic cards, which will be delivered to veterans at the Fort Lee VFW on Nov. 11. All supplies and materials will be provided, and participating children must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Celebrate one of Bergen County’s most beloved traditions at the annual Big Santa Lighting at Garden State Plaza in Paramus. The event will be hosted by Z100 radio’s Danielle Monaro and will include music, a drone light show, food trucks and live performances by the country music star Dyland Schneider, Broadway Youth Ensemble, Dance Company Debut and Ridgewood Symphony Orchestra. The fun starts at 5 p.m.
  • Longtime funnyman Bobby Collins returns to Bananas Comedy Club in Rutherford for two shows, 6 and 8:30 p.m. Collins has appeared in clubs throughout the country, performed on the late-night TV circuit and worked alongside his comic friends Chris Rock, Ray Romano, Drew Carey, Jerry Seinfeld and more. Nov. 9

  • If you’re craving a classic on the big screen, check out Sunset Boulevard, showing at Fort Lee’s Barrymore Film Center at 4:30 p.m. The film, starring Gloria Swanson and William Holden, is a crime thriller and a visual treat. Tickets are available online and at the box office.
