3 New Eateries to Feed Your Cravings

It’s hard when our favorite restaurants close, but we’re fortunate to have plenty of other dining options in Bergen County.

We’re still not quite over the closing of The Fireplace in Paramus, the beloved burger joint along Route 17 that served us and so many other Bergenites countless delicious and juicy patties over the decades. It’s been hard to say goodbye to this and other iconic restaurants over the past year, but the one silver lining is that there is never a shortage of tasty eats in our area. That’s because new places to find good grub seemingly open every day, including the trio below that already has a large following. Perhaps it’s true when they say when one door closes, another one opens.

Be sure to check out these three when the hunger pains strike:

Blendid Ice Cream, Hackensack. This ice cream shop opened just in time for summer’s dog days, offering a twist on traditional soft serve. Their rolled ice cream and flavor variety was a hit with customers on opening day and will deliver plenty of smiles for the rest of the season.

Mel’s Butcher Box, Tenafly. We previously told you how we couldn’t wait for this grand opening, and we’re excited that it finally happened last week. Pat LaFrieda Meat Purveyors alum Mel Landano serves her famous double burger, ribeye cheesesteak and more from her new spot in Tenafly.

Two Ladies Bakery, Hasbrouck Heights. Their display case is packed with cakes and pies, each ornately decorated, and you can pick up treats like macarons and coffee too. Don’t see the baked good of your liking? Ask and they can probably make it for you!
*446 Boulevard, Hasbrouck Heights, 201.414.5530
