It’ll be nice to shower your sweetheart with gifts on Valentine’s Day, but you want to show your gal pals how much you love them as well. That’s the meaning behind Galentine’s Day, Feb. 13, a day to share some quality time with your girl friends.

A night at home with your friends, a bottle of wine and a good flick on TV is a great way to spend the day. Want to do more than a movie? These at-home ideas are fun and can get everyone involved.

Of course, there’s plenty to do away from the house if you and the crew want to go out. Celebrate the night and take the entire squad to one of these places in Bergen County:

Board & Brush, Ramsey. Show off your creative side on Galentine’s Day by designing your own wooden board. Keep your DIY project for yourself or give it as an amazing Valentine’s Day gift! Registration is required.

Pinot’s Palette, Ridgewood. This popular paint-and-sip spot is holding a special Galentine’s Day event on Feb. 12. (Their Feb. 13 session is already sold out!) Sign up with the girls, paint a perfect moonlight scene and enjoy a sip of your favorite vino!

The Shannon Rose, Ramsey. Combine ladies’ night with the festivities of Mardi Gras when jazz musicians Kevin Hill & Secret Sound Jazz Band hits the stage at this hot spot. Enjoy great food, drinks and music while you and the squad dance the night away. The event is free for all.

Tommy Fox’s, Bergenfield. Show off your sisterly smarts at free Trivia Night, then stick around afterward and rock out with your squad during open mic. Grab the spotlight starting at 7 p.m.

Tony’s Italian Cuisine, Bergenfield. Have a sip and learn how to make candles at Galentine’s Candle & Cocktail Making Workshop. Hosted by Create-A-Cocktail, paid tickets include happy hour, appetizers and the workshop.
