5 Ugly Sweater Events To Check Out In Bergen

Here are five events in Bergen County to show off your finest ugliest holiday garb.

Just like cookie exchanges, white elephant gift-giving and photos with Santa, ugly sweater parties are a holiday season must. And there are a few of them going on in Bergen County this week and next leading up to Christmas, to which you can wear an ugly sweater that shows off your personality—or a vintage find from your grandparents’ closet. Both options are entirely acceptable.

Here’s where to show off your ugly sweaters in Bergen County. And if you want to support your neighbors while you’re at it, this Bergen County fire academy ugly Christmas sweater is perfect for the occasion.

  • Now through Dec. 22, Thursdays at Paramus Park Mall, Bergen Town Center and Westfield Garden State Plaza. Dress in your ugly sweater finest—the uglier the better, in fact—and don it around the mall on Thursdays. This promotion is part of the shopping centers’ pictures with Santa events, but you can wear your sweater even if you’re not scheduled for a photo op with the bearded guy.
  • Dec. 17 at 8 a.m., Ugly Sweater Mall Walk at Garden State Plaza. Hosted by New Jersey-based nonprofit Let’s Walk, participants will get in their steps while donning their ugliest sweaters with pride at this walk around the mall. There will also be holiday-themed photos and winter wellness activities. Meet in the Deck B level 4 parking lot between Neiman Marcus and AMC Theaters. Admission is FREE.
  • Dec. 23 at 9 p.m., Shannon Rose in Ramsey. This popular pub on Rte. 17 is beginning a new tradition with their first-annual ugly sweater party featuring live music from The Bergen Boys. Prizes will be award to the best sweaters.
