It’s been rainy and dreary all week, so we imagine you’re itching to get out of the house this weekend. But it’s still a bit too early to start gardening, and local sports aren’t quite ready either: Bergen County’s public golf courses officially open on Monday, and most Little Leagues are still a couple of weeks from opening day. Not to worry!

Below are seven events happening this weekend that will not only get you off the couch, but they’ll also provide several hours of fun for the entire family. Make sure you check out one or more of the following:

March 9: Easter starts early at American Dream Mall in East Rutherford, which is holding an Easter Egg Hunt at Toys “R” Us. The event is free, but registration is required. Two times are available: 10 and 10:30 a.m. Click the link to sign up and for event details.

March 9–10: Calling all train enthusiasts! The New York Society of Model Engineers is holding its Spring Model Show this weekend at its headquarters in Carlstadt. Hours are 1 to 5 p.m. each day. Click the link for ticket prices and more information.

March 9–10: It’s opening weekend for the Bergen County Players’ production of The Fantasticks. The show tells the story of two neighboring fathers who trick their children into falling in love by pretending to feud. Click the link for show times and tickets.

March 10: Start your Sunday with a pancake breakfast at the Lodi Knights of Columbus, 8:30 a.m. to noon. The menu includes all-you-can-eat scrambled eggs, pancakes, French toast, bacon, sausage, juice, coffee and more. Admission is $12 for adults, $6 for kids over age 6 and free for 5 and under. Proceeds benefit the Knights’ charities. The K of C is located at 39 Washington St. in Lodi. For more information, call Joe at 201.805.4576.

March 10: The merriment continues at Bergen County’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which starts at 1 p.m. and proceeds along Washington Avenue through downtown Bergenfield. Join fellow marchers or sit along the route and enjoy the festivities.
