Not all guys want to unwrap presents. For many, a fun experience with family is all they want.

Some dads love receiving great gifts for Father’s Day, but unwrapping a present isn’t for everyone. Many, in fact, would rather spend time with the family on their big day and experience a few hours of fun, laughs and surprises.

BERGEN curated a list of fun activities for Dad, whether he’s the explorer type, a foodie, someone who enjoys a good show and more:

For the dad who loves cars, there’s the 60th Annual Mercedes-Benz Club of America’s NNJS June Jamboree at The Hermitage in Ho-Ho-Kus on June 18. More than 100 classic Mercedes-Benz models will be on display from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for family and friends to marvel, and food trucks will be on site as well. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for kids ages 6 to 12, and free for little ones 6 and younger. Find out more at The Hermitage’s website.

For the dad who dreamed of flying the friendly skies (or if he simply likes planes and history), there’s Open Cockpit Day at the Aviation Hall of Fame in Teterboro on June 18. From 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. (the last admission is at 2:45 p.m.), visitors (the event is great for kids too) can sit in the cockpit of rare fighter planes, helicopters and more. Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors, $12 for children under 12, and free for kids 2 and under. Check out their website for more details and information about the Hall of Fame.

For the dad who enjoys nature, the Tenafly Nature Center is hosting a Father’s Day Family Hike through the woods. The walk will feature a TNC environmental educator who will guide participants along the wooded trail. Admission is $5 for TNC members and $10 for nonmembers. Kids under age 2 are free. Purchase tickets online.

For the dad who likes a little competition, challenge him to a round of mini golf at the Closter Golf Center or Paramus Mini Golf. If the two of you would rather work on your swing and form, the Closter facility is home to a covered outdoor driving range where you and pop can share a bucket of balls ($18 for 120 balls) to drive onto the fairway.

For the dad who loves the water, the Overpeck Paddle Center in Leonia offers kayak, canoe and standup paddleboard rentals to use along Overpeck Creek. Operated by Hackensack Riverkeeper, the rental center will outfit you and your guy with all the equipment you need for a few hours on the calm water. Looking to paddle through a shady, wooded waterway? Head to the Riverkeeper’s paddle center at Van Buskirk Island in Oradell. Overpeck rentals are $30 per person for two hours, and $20 per person at Van Buskirk.

For the dad who loves a show, Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament in Lyndhurst provides action, drama—and a feast. No matter what age you are, watching a sword fight and joust never gets old! Tickets are $75 for adults and $46 for kids ages 10 and under.

For the dad who likes to eat, try all the flavor combinations at a restaurant such as The Moon Korean BBQ & Hot Pot in Hackensack. If he’s into soup and everything that goes into it, hot pot allows diners the chance to pick all the ingredients (from broth and sauces to vegetables and meat) and create a unique dish. The barbecue option will give Dad control of the at-table grill, where he can grill tender cuts of meat and veggies for the entire party. Prices vary.
