Struggling to fill your holiday menu? These Bergen spots will cater your celebration with kosher food that’s just as good as homemade.
2 Eateries Hannukah

The first day of Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights, is Dec. 26, which means you have less than a week to wrap up your preparations. Don’t worry—you still have time to pick up last-minute gifts or enjoy one of the many upcoming Menorah lightings. And if it’s the dinner or dessert menu that’s stressing you out, Bergen also has you covered.

Our county has a wealth of delis, bakeries and caterers that can supply you with kosher-style spreads for dinner or babka just like your baba used to make for dessert. A few options:

Bread Boutique & Café, Tenafly. The babka and rugelach from this Tenafly spot will vanish quickly from your dessert table, guarantee. You can also count on them for sandwich platters and fantastic bourkas.

Butterflake Bakery, Teaneck. If you have any guests with a nut allergy, rejoice—Butterflake is also a nut-free bakery. Its special Hanukkah menu includes jelly donuts, menorah-shaped challah and more.

Foster Village Kosher Delicatessen, Bergenfield. The Hanukkah catering menu at this community favorite will feed eight to 10 people, and you have two separate spreads to choose from. Or, if you only want to outsource part of your meal, the soups here are divine.

Heimish Food & Catering, Teaneck. These event experts can deliver a full meal to you, including multiple side dishes and salad options. Another highlight of the menu: There are 10 different kinds of kugel, from apple to cauliflower and everything in between.

Kosher Nosh, Glen Rock. This eatery always gets its flowers in our annual Readers’ Choice Awards, and for good reason. Whether you want full platters of smoked fish or an impressive dessert spread, you’re sure to find it here.

Market Basket, Franklin Lakes. The catering platters at this Franklin Lakes staple always turn heads, and this year’s Hanukkah menu is no different. Pot roast, kasha varnishka and donuts for dessert are just the start.

Ma’adan Catering, Teaneck. At this kosher catering specialist, you’ll find all manner of appetizer spreads and party trays, plus extra options for dessert.

Patis Bakery, Teaneck and Lyndhurst. Dessert prep is a breeze with Patis, which has two convenient locations across the county. Pick up your choice of French-inspired pastries, mini cheesecakes and more.

Tenafly Kosher Deli & Caterers, Tenafly. Whether your tastes (and guest list) are calling for seafood or turkey, there’s a catering menu to satisfy everyone here.
