9 Ways To Enjoy This Weekend

Want comedy, music, markets and the outdoors? You can find all that and more here in Bergen.
Browsing Music At The Vinyl Records Shop

The forecast may be fickle, but we’re calling it—cool, gray days are behind us, and summer weather is here to stay. That means it’s time to start enjoying everything the season has to offer, and our county offers plenty.

Whether you’re looking for somewhere to take your kids or a place to hang with your crew, Bergen has you covered. Check out just a few options:

May 30

  • At Shawn’s Crazy Saloon in North Arlington, rock out to live music by New Jersey’s own Spiral Down, which will play crowd-pleasing rock and alternative favorites from bands like Aerosmith, Nirvana, Everclear, Led Zeppelin, Sublime and more. The show starts at 9 p.m.

May 31

  • Browse vintage and vinyl treasures at the Williams Center in Rutherford, where Maplewood-based Crash Doll Vintage is hosting a Retro Rodeo flea market. In addition to vintage art, jewelry and more, you can enjoy food and live music. Doors open at 10 a.m., and tickets can be purchased online.
  • Over at Van Saun Park in Paramus, you, your family and your four-legged friend can enjoy a Dog Market. Browse dog-themed vendors, take part in a cutest dog contest (we think they’ll all be winners), stop by a doggy photo booth or see pups up for adoption from Southern Paws. This event is free, and starts at 11 a.m.
  • Englewood’s Bergen Performing Arts Center hosts laugh-out-loud comedian Eddie B. and his Teachers Only 2025 An educator himself, he’s known for his “uncensored, raw and hysterically realistic portrayal of a teacher’s hectic life.” The show begins at 8 p.m., and tickets can be bought at bergenPAC’s website.
  • Kick off Pride Month with Ramsey at its seventh annual Pride Ceremony on the Ramsey High School front lawn. Enjoy live music, speakers, food trucks and community. This event is free, and begins at 6:30 p.m.
  • Five Dimes Brewery in Westwood hosts local favorite band The Exits for a night that’s sure to include good tunes, good beer and great company. This event begins at 7:30 p.m.

June 1

  • Over in Garfield, bring the kids to the Cops and Bobbers fishing event at Dahnert’s Lake County Park. Children 2 to 15 can compete for prizes and enjoy giveaways, free hot dogs and lots of fun. This event is free, and begins at 9:30 a.m.
  • The Bergen County American Legion, the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) join together for their Spring-Tober-Fest. Head to 8 Veterans Plaza in Bergenfield and enjoy live music, door prizes and good food. The fun starts at 1 p.m., and tickets can be bought at the door.
  • See the Jewish-American Songbook come to life on the lawn of the Englewood Public Library with Lois Bruno in Concert. Hear the music of George Gershwin, Bob Dylan, Billy Joel, Carole King and more. The show is free, begins at 7 p.m. and will be moved inside if it rains.
