When your granddaughter owns a shop that makes custom donut walls, of course you have to celebrate the big 9-0 in style.

Kate Emmets knows how to make a party extra special. She and her husband, John, own Off the Wall Donuts in Ridgefield Park, which designs custom donut walls for all occasions. So, when her grandmother Ann Strangos turned the big 9-0 on July 1, the Emmets got to work on designing the perfect decorative treat for the family matriarch’s party. “These donuts are a classic yeast donut with vanilla frosting, pink colored drizzle and silver sanding sugar sparkles,” says Kate, who opted for pink and silver to match the soiree’s color scheme. “We partner with many different donut shops, and these in particular were made by Glaze in New Milford.” Kate says they create custom donut walls for all sorts of parties, from baby showers to sweet 16s to anniversaries and yes, even seniors’ birthday parties. “We have done two other 90th birthdays and our roulette table donut wall has been featured at both a 60th and a double 70th birthday party,” she says. “Our grandma’s party was extra special.
