You might’ve just flipped the calendar to March, but St. Patrick’s Day will be here before you know it. In fact, the Irish spirit has already hit much of Bergen County.

For those with a hankering for corned beef and a pint of Guinness, there are plenty of Irish pubs in Bergen that serve great grub all year round. And for folks who are ready to don green from head to toe and march in a parade, there’s a slew of St. Paddy’s events happening in the coming days in our area. Here is a sampling of a few that you can check out and celebrate Irish pride:

March 2: Have a sweet tooth? The St. Patrick’s Day Cookie Decorating event at Courtyard Marriott’s Bistro in Edgewater offers guests a chance to beautify six pre-baked cookies with green icing, shamrocks, rainbows, hearts and more. The program starts at 4:30 p.m. Click the link for tickets and more details.

March 3: Join fellow revelers at the annual Rutherford St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Hosted by the Rutherford Irish American Association, the parade kicks off at 1 p.m. and proceeds through downtown Rutherford.

March 7 & 8: Bring the kids to the Garfield Library from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on either day for a St. Patrick’s Day craft. Visitors can decorate their own shamrock and paper rainbow for the holiday.

March 10: The Washington Township library’s annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration starts at noon (doors open at 11:30 a.m.) and will include the Ridgewood Irish Dancers, snacks, crafts for kids and more. Registration is required. Visit the link for details.

March 10: The merriment continues at Bergen County’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which starts at 1 p.m. and proceeds along Washington Avenue through downtown Bergenfield. Join fellow marchers or sit along the route and enjoy the festivities.
