An Outdoor Masterpiece
This budding artist in Bergenfield takes her passion outside.

In the 19th century, French painters sang the praises of drawing and painting landscape art outside, or “en plein air,” to truly capture and appreciate the beauty around them. In Bergenfield, toddler Mila already has that technique mastered. Her mother, Alaina Acker, captured this image of the girl hard at work on her sidewalk chalk masterpiece and posted it with the caption, “She was so happy to be outside again today.” Acker adds that her daughter, who is a year-and-a-half old, loves drawing in general. “That love combines great with sidewalk chalk. We get to enjoy the start of some nice spring weather,” she says.
