So, I begin my week meeting with a plastic surgeon. I know it’s crazy but I was really intrigued to hear what he had to say when he looked at me. Everyone has things they’d like to change about themselves, but this was going to be interesting because he could look at me at objectively and know what should be different from a plastic surgeon’s perspective. (Of course that’s also kind of scary considering he could point out something that never bothered me before and then I could obsess about that every time I look into the mirror…but we’ll save that kind of thinking for the hypnotist, lol.) Dr. Farhad Rafizadeh was actually extremely kind and went really easy on me. We talked about the scarring on my face that was still slightly visible from the acne I had in my early 20s—he suggested a blue peel for that. Also, the mole on my forehead that I’ve never really liked very much—he could make that less visible. And then, of course, the lines that come so easily with “age.” Although I’m not old, those lines still creep on you. There are several options that he suggested to get rid of them. I will know more after he assesses what would be best for me and I look forward to knowing what he plans to do help with my makeover!

Tuesday April 3

Today I met with Beth, at the Atlantis Sports Club & Spa, who will be my personal trainer throughout this process. I have to admit, I was nervous to meet up with her. Although I work out (sporadically) on my own from time to time, I have never had a personal trainer, and the thought of someone making you do more crunches than you are comfortable with does not sound like a fun way to begin a Tuesday! (And let’s face it, after having the baby, ten crunches are more than I’m comfortable with!) However, the experience was positive and surprisingly fun. Beth doesn’t like to kill you while you’ve working out. In fact, she has developed a way of working out that is targeted at sculpting your body and getting you into shape using a combination of pilates, yoga and weight training. Not to mention she does the entire routine with you so you don’t feel so alone while you’re working out. It was the fastest 45 minutes ever. I didn’t feel like time was dragging or that I couldn’t wait for it to be over. I look forward to our next session already and can’t wait to start taking classes at the Atlantis after work for extra workouts!
