10 Bergen Events To Check Out This Weekend
From carnivals and comedy shows to wellness festivals and Pride events, there’s something for everyone in our county.

Though summer doesn’t officially start for a few more weeks, you don’t have to wait to soak up the fun of the season. In Bergen County, there is a variety of entertaining activities and events for all ages taking place this weekend alone.
Take a look at some of the happenings below and see which ones you and your crew will be attending. Click on the individual links for more information and tickets, if applicable.
May 31
- Enjoy an evening of laughs at The Basement at Tommy’s, located at Tommy Fox’s in Bergenfield. TGIF Comedy Night featuring local funnyman Chip Ambrogio starts at 7 p.m. (doors open at 6:15). General admission tickets are $15.
May 31–June 2
- The L.E.A.D. Fest carnival returns to Garden State Plaza in Paramus for a full weekend of rides, games, food and family fun. Admission is $5, and rides are extra. The carnival opens at 5 p.m. on Friday and at 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. L.E.A.D.’s mission is to promote safer, healthier communities that are free of drugs, bullying and violence across the country.
June 1
- Start the day on the water at the 2024 Oradell Reservoir Challenge. Head to 440 Lake Shore Dr. in Haworth to enjoy a fishing derby, kayak and canoe races, open paddle sessions, kids’ activities, food and more. Admission is free, but races and paddle sessions are extra. Click here to sign up now.
- The Northwest Bergen Regional Health Commission is hosting a free Health & Wellness Festival at Veterans’ Memorial Park in Westwood. From noon to 3 p.m., all community members can take advantage of free health screenings, fitness activities, interactive presentations, guests speakers and more. There also will be raffles, giveaways, swag bags and contests.
- Celebrate Pride and the LGBTQ+ community at Rutherford’s 3rd Annual PrideFEST. The free festivities take place from noon to 4 p.m. at Lincoln Park and will include a DJ, live music and performances, a beer garden, food trucks, kids’ activities and play area, local vendors and nonprofits and more. P.S.: When the fun in Rutherford ends, head north on Route 17 to Ramsey High School for the Ramsey LGBTQ Pride Ceremony, from 6 to 8 p.m. The free event features speakers, live music, food trucks and more.
- Stop by Hudson Lights Park in Fort Lee from noon to 5 p.m. for an Artisan Market. A curated selection of more than 30 vendors will be selling unique clothing, jewelry, beauty and bath products, fine art, photography, pet products, home goods, children’s items and more. Live music and food for purchase will also be available.
- The Hackensack Performing Arts Center will host a special concert featuring Broadway veteran Robert Creighton. He’s performed in shows such as Disney’s Frozen, The Lion King, Anything Goes and Chicago, among others. Tickets for the 8 p.m. show start at $40.
June 2
- Ride, run or walk the annual Go the Distance for Autism event, taking place at Bergen Community College in Paramus. In-person registration is available for the following: 3-, 10- or 15-mile bike ride; 5K walk and 5K run. Check-in for each event starts at 8:30 a.m., and the opening ceremony take place at 9:45. Proceeds will benefit Alpine Learning Group Foundation, EPIC Foundation and REED Foundation for Autism.
- It’s street fair season, and the Hasbrouck Heights Spring Fling 2024 is a must see. Held along Boulevard from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the free-to-attend event invites all residents to enjoy food, games, activities, a kids’ zone, live music, demonstrations and more than 100 vendors and exhibitors.
- Support local vendors at Crafts in the Park, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Veterans’ Memorial Park in Westwood. There will be 125 local artisans with original art, jewelry, soap, candles, stained glass, woodwork and more, as well as food and drink vendors.
