Celebrate July 4th in Bergen County

Whether you’re looking for a 5K race or a fireworks bash, Bergen County can make your holiday perfect.

Who’s excited for July 4th? We have less than a week until the festivities, and it’s no surprise that our county is ready to celebrate in style.

But what style would you prefer? There’s no “correct” way to spend Independence Day, though music, barbeque and fireworks are all popular options. If you’re looking for something a little more laid back instead (and we don’t blame you), there’s something here for you too.

Browse through these options and find your perfect match (and make sure you check the links for individual event’s details and prices!):

June 29–July 3

  • On June 29 in Teaneck, the Red, White & Blue Food Truck Festival is in swing all day, from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. Come for dozens of food trucks, all-day live music, ziplines and more.
  • On June 29, head over to Tenafly for food, games, giveaways and fireworks at the town’s holiday celebration.
  • On July 2, Lyndhurst hosts its Independence Day Celebration with fireworks and a DJ.

July 4

  • The festivities in Ridgefield Park go on all day, beginning with a reading of the Declaration of Independence and a flag raising at 7:30 a.m. A baby parade and main parade follow, with a concert and fireworks display in the evening.
  • If you want to celebrate with exercise, you can stop by the Leonia Run 4 Fun 2024 at 8 a.m., a charity 5K (1 mile and “around the block” options are also available).
  • Before this town’s parade, you can get you steps in with the Glen Rock Tribute Run at 8 a.m. Glen Rock’s parade starts at 9 a.m. and proceeds to the Glen Rock Municipal Pool parking lot.
  • Paramus’s parade begins at 9 a.m. and culminates at the grandstand located at Memorial Elementary School.
  • Oradell hosts its annual parade at 9 a.m.
  • River Edge’s celebrations take place from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., and include vendors, activities and fun for everyone.
  • At 9:30 a.m., Teaneck’s July 4 Parade starts its procession near Highwood Street, ending at Votee Park. The township recommends viewing after Johnson Avenue.
  • If you’d like to take your celebration indoors, you can also enjoy live music at the Glen Rock Inn starting around 1 p.m.
  • Ridgewood’s July 4 Celebration goes on all day, beginning with a flag raising and a parade and ending with an extensive lineup of live music. The evening’s fireworks show starts at 9 p.m. There will also be food trucks and a beer garden.
  • At Hackensack’s Foschini Park, there will be food trucks, games and activities starting at 4 p.m. with a fireworks spectacular in the evening.
  • In the Ridgefield Park and Henry Hoebel sections of Overpeck County Park, Bergen County throws its annual Star-Spangled Spectacular featuring the New Jersey Wind Symphony.
  • You can visit the New Jersey state fair at the Meadowlands in Rutherford until July 7 but, if you stop by on Independence Day (or the day before), the day closes out with a spectacular firework show.

July 6

  • Ramsey’s celebration goes from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at Finch Park. The night concludes with fireworks.
  • Over in Maywood, the festivities start at 6:30 p.m. and fireworks start at 9:15 p.m.

July 7

  • At the Cliff Gennarelli Sports Complex in Paramus, enjoy a giant fireworks show, which will also include music and food trucks. The fun starts at 3 p.m.
