Pickleball-Pong Is Born
Two Fort Lee friends take a trendy sport to the next level of fun and competition.
Pickleball is 2024’s fastest-growing sport, and Henry Cheng of Fort Lee is a huge fan—in fact, he says that he “eats and lives pickleball,” and is always looking for more ways to play it. On a recent evening, that passion sparked innovation. After a few hours of playing (what else?) pickleball, Cheng and a friend saw a ping-pong table in an apartment building lounge. “[We] decided to get creative,” Cheng says. He posted their result in the Instagram video, which Cheng dubs “pickleball pong.” Of the new game, Cheng says: “It was a lot of fun, but it took a while to get used to the big paddle and ball on the smaller table.”
