Spring is still a few weeks away, but you shouldn’t have to wait for the new season to have a little fun. In Bergen County, there are plenty of exciting activities for everyone happening this weekend.

Below are a few ways to share laughs, enjoy a show and march with fellow Bergenites:

Feb. 28–March 1

  • For a weekend of laughter, visit Bananas Comedy Club in Rutherford and watch funnyman Joey Kola. A veteran of the comedy club circuit and late-night talk shows, Kola brings his brand of high-energy performances to Bergen County for three performances over the two nights. Tickets are available online.
  • The talented students at Bergen Academies in Hackensack present “The Drowsy Chaperone.” Multiple shows and seating options are available. Click here to read more about upcoming high school musicals around the county.
  • The performing arts students at Dwight-Englewood School in Englewood will stage their winter musical, “Mean Girls.” Visit the link for showtimes and tickets.
  • Join the Bergen County Players for their final weekend shows of “Rabbit Hole, based on the 2007 Pulitzer Prize-winning drama that tells the bittersweet story of a young husband and wife who, after a life-shattering accident, find themselves drifting apart. Several shows and seating options are available.

Feb. 28

  • Head to The Basement at Tommy Fox’s for a fun trivia event, Boomer Jeopardy. The contest, hosted by humor columnist Bill Ervolino, will feature great prizes as well as Tommy Fox’s regular food and drink menu. The fun starts at 7 p.m. Admission is $20 in advance and $25 at the door.
  • Want to be wowed? Check out illusionist Rick Thomas in his act “Mansion of Dreams” at Bergen Preforming Arts Center in Englewood. He’s appeared on Animal Planet, The History Channel and his own special on ABC. Show time is at 7 p.m.

March 1

  • Watch the skill and artistry of Chinese Acrobatics with Li Liu at Bergen Town Center in Paramus. The 11 a.m. and noon performances are free and will showcase amazing moves and routines, including ribbon dancing, hand balancing, plate spinning and juggling.
  • See all your favorite mascots during the Characters of the Dream Parade at American Dream in East Rutherford. From 3 to 3:30 p.m., beloved costumed characters from Nickelodeon Universe, DreamWorks Water Park and other mall attractions will take the stage at Court A, Level 1.

March 2

  • Don your best green garb and march with others at the annual Rutherford St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The parade kicks off at 1 p.m. and will proceed down Park Avenue in downtown Rutherford.
  • Enjoy an evening of relaxing music as the All Seasons Chamber Players performs a free concert at the Fair Lawn Library. The 6:30 p.m. show will include guest artist Soyeon Park on piano.
