Music Speaks and Musical Summer Camp At bergenPAC’s Performing Arts School

Music Speaks uses developmentally appropriate songs in different genres to engage infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, ages three months to four years. The 45-minute sessions incorporate chants, finger plays, small and large movements with different instruments, and other rhythmic activities, to introduce children to the magic of music.

Early childhood music classes have been shown to boost children’s language development, encourage sharing and teamwork, and improve their social and emotional development. These classes also strengthen family relationships, as the children bond with their caregivers through interactive play.

Music Speaks is led by Wendy Bain, known to the kids as “Miss Wendy”, who has taught early childhood music classes since 2003 and was trained by the Center for Music and Young Children in Princeton, N.J.

“Wendy’s interactive classes are always a favorite with our families, as our youngest learners have fun exploring and developing important social, language and motor skills,” Becky Serico, Director of bergenPAC’s Performing Arts School said.

Musical Theater Summer Camp Returns

Calling all young stars: bergenPAC’s Performing Arts School Musical Theater Summer Camp is returning, and families can save by signing up before April 30.

The program offers fun musical theater instruction from bergenPAC’s professional teaching artists to children aged six to 12. The camp runs Monday to Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at bergenPAC Performing Arts School in Englewood, NJ. There are two three-week sessions that both conclude with a student performance on bergenPAC’s Taub Stage.

bergenPAC presents a musical theater production in the spring for young performers and a summer musical for teens. This summer camp is excellent preparation for students interested in auditioning for opportunities like these.

July Session

July 7-24 (with an end of camp performance on July 24 at 5 p.m.)

August Session

Aug. 4-21 (with an end of camp performance on August 21 at 5 p.m.)

Tuition

Cost: $1,300 plus $40 registration fee. There is a $100 early bird discount if you sign up by May 30. Payment plans and scholarships are available.
