Happy Holi!
A River Edge family celebrates spring’s arrival with big smiles and an explosion of color.

Every holiday has its hues: Red and green for Christmas or orange and black for Halloween, for instance. But Holi is the Hindu celebration of all colors as well as love, equality and spring. It’s one of the world’s more colorful festivals, and celebrating it involves dousing oneself and loved ones in bright, multi-hued powder and dye. This year, it took place on March 14. Nik Kamdar and his family recently commemorated the holiday, gathering in his sister’s River Edge backyard so everyone could spend time together. He captured the colorful aftermath and posted the pictures to his Instagram, adding the comment, “Holi is the time to celebrate life with the brightest colors of joy!”
