These Bergen Farms Are In Full Swing

Looking for fresh produce, flowers and more? These locales have that and more.

With the warm weather and sunshine, you’ve likely taken steps into your own garden recently. We are well into the season of flowers, and the season of fresh produce will follow soon after. There’s nothing better than farm-fresh fruits and veggies—even if they can be a hassle to grow yourself.

Happily, just as your garden is coming to life, so are Bergen’s farms, all of them ready to deliver fresh produce to you—plus amazing baked goods and plants. Check out:

Abma’s Farm. Over in Wyckoff, this family farm is open year-round and offers fun events for every season (on May 5 and 6, for instance, they are holding a special Mother’s Day Gift Making class for kids). Pick up produce, lunch from their deli and stop to say hello to some baby animals at their petting zoo.

Closter Farm & Livestock Co. Visit this farmstand every day from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. You’ll also find house-made kombucha and organic chicken here.

Demarest Farms. The farm officially opened this week, and you can browse the farm market and say hello to the animals at the petting zoo in Hillsdale.

DePiero’s Farm Stand & Greenhouses. Pick up flowers and veggies every weekend at this farmstand in Montvale.

Fresh & Fancy Farms. Over in New Milford, this small farm offers an adorable café in addition to produce, herbs, hanging flower baskets and more.

Metropolitan Farm. In addition to all the annuals and perennials your garden could want (check out their deer resistant options if you’re already struggling with animal visitors), you can pick up local honey at this Closter spot.

Secor Farms. In Mahwah, browse this farm’s wide selection of flowers and produce (they also make pre-styled container planters for decks and front stoops). You can also find the plants to start your own vegetable garden.

Stokes Farm. This Old Tappan farm is now open for the season: Stop by on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays for seasonal produce and beautiful bouquets of flowers. And stop by on May 3 for their Spring Craft Show.
