It’s hot out there, and we’re not just talking about the weather. Bergen is packed with can’t-miss activities this weekend.

After a week filled with extreme heat, sticky humidity and threats of rain, we’re all ready for a reprieve this weekend. While summer weather is unpredictable, what’s certain this time of year are the many things to do here in Bergen County—and this weekend is no exception.

June 27
- Do you love smooth sounds and groovy tunes? Check out Yacht Rock Gold in concert starting at 7 p.m. at the Wyckoff YMCA. The band will perform a litany of feel-good songs by The Doobie Brothers, Fleetwood Mac, Christopher Cross, Kenny Loggins and more. Tickets are available online.
- Celebrate one of the greatest rock bands of all time with Lez Zeppelin, an all-female Led Zeppelin tribute band, who’ll perform an 8 p.m. concert at Bergen Performing Arts Center in Englewood. June 28
- Start the day by treating your body to Yoga for the Soul, an outdoor session at Bergen Town Center in Paramus. Bring your own mat to the fourth level parking garage for the free 9 a.m. class with instructor Kirsten Lane, who’ll help you unwind, ease anxiety and melt stress. The session will move to the lower level outside the management office in the event of inclement weather.
- Join Reclama, support the LGBT+ community and get exercise at a Pride Hike through Palisades Interstate Park. The 2-mile hike begins at 10 a.m. at the park in Alpine and will include tarot readings, conversation, laughs and more. Find out more at their Eventbrite page.
- Say “Happy Birthday” to the New Jersey Hall of Fame, which commemorates one year at American Dream in East Rutherford. Head to the mall between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. for the party, which includes fun, games and a special Class of 2025 announcement. Tickets to the celebration can be purchased online.
- Bring the kids to Stew Leonard’s in Paramus for its Kick-off to Summer Character Lunch. From 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., the store’s popular characters will be on hand for a meet-and-greet session, while visitors can enjoy a buffet-style lunch that includes chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, mac and cheese and more. - Raise a glass with friends at the Meadowlands Winefest, happening from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Meadowlands Racetrack in East Rutherford. Attendees can enjoy wines from around the globe (more than 30 producers will be on hand) as well as a DJ and live horse racing starting at 6:20 p.m. Buy your tickets online today.
- For a full night of laughs, check out the Howdy Stranger Improv Comedy Show at the Hackensack Performing Arts Center. The game-show-style performances are made up on-the-spot, so be ready to shout your ideas to inspire every scene. The fun starts at 8 p.m., and tickets are available online.
June 29
- Join the Bergen County Audubon Society for its Start of Summer Walk at the Teaneck Creek Conservancy. The free trail walk is held from 10 a.m. to noon and is open to birders of all levels and interests. The program starts at the parking lot at 20 Puffin Way in Teaneck and takes place rain or shine.
- For delicious bites and excitement for all, visit the Caribbean Island Food and Family Fun Festival at the Teaneck Armory. The event takes place from noon to 7 p.m. and will include dozens of food trucks, craft vendors, bounce houses, trampolines and more. Tickets are available online.
- Let’s go to the movies! The Barrymore Film Center in Fort Lee is screening the Jane Austen classic Sense and Sensibility at 1 p.m. The 1995 film stars Emma Thompson, Kate Winslet and James Fleet and has a 136-minute run time. Get your tickets on the film center’s website.
- Get ready to have your mind blown away, as mentalist Judah Mantell performs Wonderful and Strange at The Seven Crest theater in Teaneck.
