It probably doesn’t feel that way when you’re stuck in traffic (and boy, have we sat some in rush hour traffic around Fort Lee), but the Palisades Parkway is a truly scenic road, particularly when all the trees are in their autumn best. If you can’t appreciate it from the car, perhaps an overhead look with convince you? That’s exactly what John Elian, a licensed drone pilot from Queens, aimed to do when he took this tracking shot of the highway on a cool November day. “I wanted to immerse myself in the beautiful autumn colors on a day hike through the Palisades Interstate Park Trail. While driving up, I couldn’t help but pull over and enjoy the views of the Hudson River. It was there that I had the idea to send up my drone to get a bird’s eye view,” he says. “I’m glad I did!” He also adds that, “New Jersey has beautiful municipal parks, and I love sharing videos of the wonderous landscapes.”
