Getting into the water for the first time can be scary for anyone—even a four-legged friend! On a recent early-spring day, Kaitlin Rahmes of Ridgefield Park brought her 4-month-old puppy, Indiana Bones (also known as Indy, or Mr. Bones), to a Glen Rock park to introduce him to the water. They captured the moment on video and posted it on Instagram. “To our knowledge, Indy had never played in a creek or swam before that video was taken,” says Rahmes. “Our goal was to introduce him slowly to a shallow, natural body of water in the hopes that he’d come to enjoy playing in water as a special treat!”  She and her husband gently coaxed Indy into the water by splashing around in it themselves. The slow approach worked beautifully: “He’s splashed around in a few other creeks since then, though no swimming yet!” Rahmes reports. We hope he takes the plunge soon!
