Mahwah’s Ramapo Valley County Reservation offers the perfect early-spring escape for an out-of-towner.
There’s nothing like a walk among budding trees and new flowers to embrace all that April has to offer. On a recent visit from New York City, Marissa Montague discovered that Bergen’s the perfect place to do just that. She tagged along with hiking and wellness group The Nature Rx for a restorative, scenic stroll around Ramapo Valley County Reservation in Mahwah. She captured highlights of the adventure on her Instagram—beautiful waterfalls, peaceful lakes and good company proved the perfect way to spend a cool weekend day. Montague calls the day “a work out,” and adds, “The weather was amazing for a spring hike: not too hot, not too cold and just the right amount of breeze to cool us down from the uphill, rocky trails! I am a nature lover and love being outdoors, specifically near water; it’s the Pisces in me.”
