Find The Freshest Veggies At These Farmers’ Markets

Celebrate the season at a local market packed with delicious produce, decadent baked goods and more.

’Tis the season for garden planting, beautiful pink trees and veggie-filled bites. There’s nothing like spring to make us crave the fresh, the green and the local—and, happily, there are many places in Bergen that put all that and more at your fingertips.

Yes, it’s time for the farmers’ market scene to come alive again! From bustling hubs filled with live music to quiet farmstands where you can chat with the farmer who grew the peas you’re buying, you’ll find one not too far away.

While many local markets open a bit later in the season (June or July), there are also several running right now—and several more opening in the next few weeks, so you can catch opening day.

Closter Farm’s Farmstand. Open daily from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m., you’ll find super-fresh seasonal produce, eggs, poultry and more.

Farm Market at Demarest Farms. The 2026 season kicked off at this farm on April 21. Stop by daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for a farm market with baked goods, fruits, veggies, jams and honey.

Ramsey Farmers’ Market. This community staple is open on Sundays all year round at Ramsey’s Main Street train station. Winner of the Best Farmers’ Market category in the 2025 Readers’ Choice contest, this market opens at 10 a.m. until the end of April; starting in May, it will open at 9.

Stokes Farm. The doors of this Old Tappan farm opened in mid-April. Stop by for herbs, flowers and workshops in addition to fresh produce on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Franklin Lakes Farmers and Artisan Market. Returning May 16 and continuing every Saturday after is this market in Franklin Lakes. Stop by from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

River Edge Farmers Market. This popular market starts back up again on May 14 and continues every Thursdays from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m.

River Vale Farmers Market. A Best Farmers’ Market honoree in last year’s Readers’ Choice contest for returns May 14 and continues every Thursday from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m.

Teaneck Farmers Market. Starting on May 7, this market will be open every Thursday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
