Labor Day is almost here, which means summer is winding down, the long weekend is calling—and retailers are basically rolling out the red carpet for shoppers. Lucky for us, that can translate into some very good deals.

From fashion and beauty finds to home goods and everything in between, local stores and big-box retailers alike offer plenty of reasons to squeeze in some shopping before summer’s unofficial end. And the best part? You don’t have to wait until the holiday weekend itself to start saving.

So, if your idea of celebrating Labor Day involves a little less labor and a little more shopping, we’ve got you covered. Here are some sales worth checking out now—before the good stuff (and the good sizes) disappears.

• Ashley. This big box furniture store in Paramus has started its Labor Day sale, with select items up to 60 percent off. You’ll find sofas, sectionals, dining tables and sets, bedroom pieces and sets, recliners and more on sale.
• Fortunoff Backyard Store. Give your yard one final upgrade for the season with deals from this shop, located in Paramus. You’ll find discounted outdoor dining sets, bar sets, umbrellas and other patio décor. For extra savings, check out the store’s floor sample sales.
• Ginger N’ Cream. This Westwood women’s boutique has sales on summer items, including shorts, skirts, halter mini dresses and blouses. Shopping for young ones? Check out the discounted rompers and sets for babies.
• The Home Depot. Get all your projects done with tools, appliances, flooring, furniture and other home improvement items, many of which went on sale starting Aug. 27. This chain has Bergen locations in Hackensack, Lodi, Mahwah and Paramus.
• Lowe’s. Home improvement and outdoor living items are discounted during Labor Day sales, and you can find deals on select power tools and equipment, grills and smart home devices. Lowe’s has stores in East Rutherford and Paramus.
• Nordstrom. This department store at Garden State Plaza in Paramus has discounted apparel that can bridge the gap between summer and fall. You’ll find markdowns on select women’s sweaters and jeans, men’s polos and jackets, children’s clothes and toys and more.
• Pottery Barn. Sales at this home furnishings store located in Hackensack, Montvale and Paramus will feature deep discounts (we’re talking 50 to 70 percent off) on a range of items, including rugs, bedding, lighting and home décor.
• Ramsey Outdoor. Get ready for your next adventure with discounted items from this local shop. Score discounts (up to 40 percent off) and items like backpacks, jackets, shoes and sandals, apparel and accessories for the entire family.
• Society Femme. This Westwood women’s specialty store has many last-chance items and sales on select swimwear, shoes, bags and accessories. Guys are in luck too: They can walk next door to Society Men and find discounts on menswear items.
• Suite 201. Looking for new polos, tanks, cover ups, sweatpants and other summer items? This Ridgewood women’s shop has many of those pieces on sale now.
• Target. There are several locations where residents can save at this major chain, which has outposts in Closter, Edgewater, Hackensack and Paramus. Widespread discounts will apply to categories like electronics, home goods and back-to-school items.
• Walmart. This major box store uses Labor Day to clear out summer inventory, so look for deep discounts on apparel as well as electronics, outdoor furniture and school supplies.
• West Elm. Upgrade your home with modern furnishings and accessories from this store, which is located in Paramus.
