Family Cooking
Grandmother and granddaughter come together in Ramsey for culinary magic.

They say food is best when it’s shared, and there’s no one better to share with than family. For Madeleine Andonian, making traditional Armenian food is a multigenerational activity, as she often cooks with her daughter Serpouhi Toriguian Vartivarian and granddaughter in the Ramsey kitchen. She recently posted this video of them making Armenian dolma, cooking and then stuffing and rolling grape leaves. “One kitchen, two generations, a whole lot of creativity, and absolutely no shortage of mess!” she wrote in the caption. “The dolma might not look exactly like Grandma’s, but the kitchen smells heavenly, the laughter is endless and the memories? PRICELESS!” We bet the dolma tastes great too!
